Mulbury Homes secures £12.3m for 600 new homes
Published:  30 October, 2013

Mulbury Homes has secured funding of over £12.3m to build over 600 new homes across the North West.

The homes will be delivered between 2014 – 2017, after the Lymm-based developer successfully bid for grants from the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA).

The money is from a share of a £220m pot being made available to developers and housing associations to build new affordable homes.

In total Mulbury Homes is set to develop 616 units on behalf of North West housing associations, including 108 affordable homes in Liverpool, 78 in Warrington, 57 in Manchester, 56 in Preston, 38 in Salford, 21 in Colne and 32 in Blackburn.

The homes will be developed alongside a number of care schemes including 118 properties in Warrington, 90 in Rochdale, and 60 in Preston. These properties will be delivered under its Mulbury Care brand which specialises in homes for older people.

Greg Mulligan, director of Mulbury Homes, said: “As we look to continue our steady growth, this latest round of grant funding will enable us to deliver even more affordable homes in North West locations that need them the most.

“Since 2011, we are constructing or have completed projects worth more than £50m, created new jobs and supported hundreds more in the construction sector, and have seen growth year on year. With over three years of work already on our order book, and no debt, we’re in a really strong position and remain on the look-out for further opportunities to grow the business.”
