Keep the noise down
Published:  31 October, 2018

The quietest products have been recognised in the latest “Noise Oscars”.

The Noise Abatement Society John Connell Awards took place last week at the Palace of Westminster. They recognise local authorities, industries, individuals and organisations that have been outstanding in their efforts to reduce the impact of noise nuisance and to create practical and innovative solutions to noise pollution.

Salamander Pumps returned as a sponsor this year for the Quiet Mark Award of Distinction Award, which it won last year for its commitment to creating new noise reduction solutions. It reduced its shower pumps’ noise levels by 15%.

This year, the Quiet Mark Award of Distinction Award went to Vaillant Boilers and was presented by Sonia Phippard, Director General for Environment, Rural and Marines at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.

Gloria Elliott, NAS Society Chief Executive, said Vaillant won due to its “skilled use of the Quiet Mark within its TV advertisement to convey the positive health message to millions of viewers”.

Now in its 17th year, the awards have honoured more than 200 recipients for the positive impact they have made on the aural environment, including John Lewis, Virgin Atlantic and Lexus.

Gareth Richards, Technical Director at Salamander Pumps, said: “We were thrilled to be a sponsor at this year’s John Connell Awards.

“The awards are a great platform to showcase the work that individuals and organisations are doing to reduce noise pollution, and we are really pleased to see another brand from the industry recognised.

“Congratulations to Vaillant.”
