The donation will be used initially to refurbish Crofters House, a Grade II listed building which is currently used as the main reception and offices.
Beverley Whitehead, marketing manager at Dulux Decorator Centre, said: “Manchester Dogs’ Home is right on our doorstep and we were all shocked and upset by the fire last year. We wanted to do something to help the home recover and we hope our donation will go some way towards that.”
Home manager at Manchester Dogs' Home, Steve Mapley, added: "Dulux Decorator Centre's very generous donation saves us a lot of time and resources when we're trying as hard as we can to get the Dogs' Home up and running again. They're a wonderful example of local companies helping charities by lending support in their areas of expertise, and we'd like to say a huge thank you."
