LEAMINGTON SPA: Climate Center has appointed George Derbyshire as national sales manager for cooling.

He will be responsible for the company’s air conditioning business, and work alongside Robert Franklin, National Sales Manager for Refrigeration, with both reporting to Scott Craig, Sales and Marketing Director of Climate Center and Pipe Center.

Mr Derbyshire began his career in the industry at 19 in South Africa, working on a trade counter with refrigeration and air conditioning specialist Kovco. He came to the UK eight years ago, and prior to joining Climate Center served with HRP as regional sales manager for London.

“Climate Center has an industry-leading line-up of air conditioning brands,” he said. “The trio of Daikin, Toshiba and Fujitsu are unbeatable in terms of technology, quality and value. It offers a complete spectrum of options – VRV/VRF, splits and heat pumps - catering for most applications and price points.”

He added: “The recent addition of Carrier chillers to Climate Center’s range opens up a whole new sector, and offers tremendous opportunities for both ourselves and our customers. The development has generated huge interest among our customer base, and we will be focusing on developing the chiller side of our business over the coming months.”

Scott Craig said: “I am delighted to welcome George on-board. We are very ambitious for our air conditioning business, and have built a superb portfolio of brands and technology that is the envy of competitors. The appointment of George completes the formidable line-up.

“George shares our ambitions and has the practical, technical and leadership skills to develop Climate Center’s air conditioning business in order to fulfil its enormous potential.”
