HOLDON hand tools has been on a mission this year to test the sawing skills of the nation’s tradesmen, in a competition exclusive to Travis Perkins.

The finalists earned their spot and the chance to win a Volkswagen Caddy van by using a HOLDON saw to cut through a sleeper in the fastest qualifying time. The final challenge, which takes place on 4 September 2014 at the Northampton Saints stadium, will see the 10 speediest contestants compete to achieve a clean cut in the quickest time to be crowned the ultimate winner.

As well as the top prize of a van, each finalist will receive a free 16GB iPad and be treated to a sneak preview of HOLDON Black – a new premium hand tools range.

Reena Mistry, marketing manager for HOLDON, said: “The qualifying times have been really amazing, with the fastest time so far being just 11.52 seconds. If this is anything to go by, the competition at the grand final should be outstanding.”

Mark Bocking, branch manager of Travis Perkins Northampton, added: “Our customers are big believers in the HOLDON brand and we’re sure there will be lots more converts when they see what the Rapsaw can do in just over 10 seconds. As Northampton is the home of Travis Perkins, it seemed fitting to hold the final here. We’re looking forward to naming the winner and handing over that van!”
