Dewsbury-based Rixonway Kitchens has appointed Phil Bonar as director of merchant sales, to help the company bolster growth in the market.

This appointment follows a record start to 2014, which has seen turnover increase by 36% in the first quarter, with production increasing to more than 18,000 cabinets a week for the first time.

Prior to joining Rixonway, Mr Bonar worked for five years as business development director at Polypipe Building Products. His new role will see him draw from over 30 years' experience in the construction industry, the vast majority of which has been working with the merchant sector, which is a business strategy Rixonway is keen to develop.

"Moving to Rixonway is a new venture and an exciting challenge, both professionally and personally,” said Mr Bonar. “Doing something new is always exciting.

"I know it's going to be demanding, but I'm up for that. and although I've got some big shoes to fill from my predecessor, I will be concentrating on continuing to build on the significant growth of the merchant business he and our sales team achieved in recent years. Particularly in the development of new and existing supportive merchants and the implementation of our plans on the Halvanto Kitchens range, specifically designed for the private developer market.”

Rixonway's sales and marketing director David Anderson added: “I am very pleased that Phil is joining our team. I am sure he will be a great asset for the company based on his long-term experience with building merchants. His appointment will help us continue in the right direction and can only take us from strength to strength.”
