Travis Perkins has unveiled a brand new branch on Neachells Lane, Willenhall in Wolverhampton, which has been developed following extensive research into how tradespeople navigate branches and select products.

Developed as a model of excellence based on agreed principles for outstanding service, Travis Perkins Wolverhampton now features a spacious tradecounter, heavy-side and timber areas, greater product choice, and distinctly coloured product zones which make selection incredibly simple – all elements that customers said would result in a more positive branch experience. The changes also have the added benefit of improving safety standards, which continues to be a priority for Travis Perkins.

The branch also includes the local merchant’s first dedicated renewables display area from fellow Group brand Solfex, a tool and equipment hire service, paint mixing station, and a meeting room with free wi-fi, demonstrating how every element of the customer journey has been scrutinised and developed into a helpful service.

Steve Bareham, Travis Perkins customer experience director, said: “This trade counter model is already proving to be incredibly successful – the changes mean greater standards, greater consistency in service, greater engagement for colleagues, and a great environment for customers to trade in. The good news is that it can be applied to branches of all sizes thanks to the extensive research the team completed into customer journey, point-of-sale, product placement, and merchandising.”

Mr Bareham added: “The new-look Wolverhampton branch really demonstrates all that is great about Travis Perkins and we’re sure that customers will continue to notice and appreciate the difference we’re making.”
