A new record has been set for the most online training courses completed in a month by Wolseley UK employees.

The knowledge-hungry staff completed 12,000 courses via the company’s Online Training Academy during January 2014. New data from the Academy also shows that upping training effort has been a year-round achievement, with employees completing twice the number of online training courses compared to last year.

The data also showed that 95% of the company’s 6,000-strong workforce improved their customer service skills by passing a bespoke Wolseley UK customer service course, and 84% of employees passed a new and updated Manual Handling module, which teaches employees how to keep themselves – and their customers – safe in the workplace.

“The beauty of our Online Training Academy is that it’s convenient,” said Sukhy Bhogal, e-learning manager at Wolseley UK. “Courses are accessible at any time, from any computer, and employees can start and stop their training according to their workloads. It’s a win-win for employees and customers alike – employees learn new skills and product knowledge, which benefits our customers because they get even better customer service.
