The Builders Merchants Federation (BMF) has added Britain’s richest plumber, Charlie Mullins, to a powerful line-up of speakers for BMF Members Day in September.

Mr Mullins launched Pimlico Plumbers in 1979 with just a bag of tools and a very old van bought at auction. His company now has a £20m turnover, 200 professional tradespeople and a support team of around 50 staff, serving customers across London including some of the world’s most famous names such as James Bond star Daniel Craig and actress Dame Helen Mirren.

John Newcomb, managing director of BMF, said: “It’s a real coup to secure Charlie Mullins for Members Day, and highly appropriate in the year that sees the launch of the BMF’s Plumbing & Heating Sector. This is a man who is not afraid to put his head above the parapet. We can expect the unexpected from his presentation, which is sure to be entertaining as well as thought provoking.”

BMF Members Day takes place over two days – 16 and 17 September – and once again will use the facilities at Whittlebury Hall located next to the Silverstone race circuit in Northamptonshire. The theme for this year’s event is “Accelerating Growth” and is supported by headline sponsor, ACO Academy.
