Door manufacturer Masonite International has bought Door-Stop International.

Masonite employs over 7,000 people and sells to 70 countries from over 70 locations worldwide. Its UK division operates from its 400,000ft2 factory in Barnsley, south Yorkshire.

“The UK composite door market is an exciting place to be,” said Robin Baker, general manager for Masonite UK. “Acquiring Door-Stop and its impressive online business model places Masonite into this market and positions us for further growth.”

Door-Stop managing director Nick Dutton said: “Masonite’s acquisition is an exciting new chapter. Door-Stop customers will benefit from Masonite’s immense knowledge, resources and experience, particularly in product development and innovation. Masonite is a company that has doors at the heart of its culture, so I am delighted that Door-Stop is joining the Masonite family and becoming a part its future.

“This should be reassuring to customers and potential customers who want long-term supply relationships with a progressive organisation.”

As business unit director, Martin Dickie, a new addition to the Door-Stop team, will ensure that Door-Stop continues to grow and deliver on its promises to both current and future customers. Mr Dickie has been involved in the composite door industry for almost 20 years and brings with him a wealth of experience and a longstanding working knowledge of Door-Stop.
