Patrick Spurgeon has been appointed as the new Bury St Edmunds store manager for Kent Blaxill.

Mr Spurgeon has had extensive experience as a manager in the Suffolk buildings supplies trade, after starting his career as a cabinet maker.

“I am extremely pleased to welcome Patrick to the Kent Blaxill family," said Ron McConnachie, Kent Blaxill commercial director. “Patrick is just what we need at our Bury branch. He is very much a people person and extremely focused on customer service. He has some keen ideas for the branch to enhance our offer and strengthen our position in Bury.”

Mr Spurgeon said: “The job brings some new challenges for me and I will be looking to develop the business and to take the depot forward. There are a number of areas of the business I will be looking to build upon. In particular we are going to refurbish the glass area with a new display area and relaunch the DecXpress delivery van, so we can offer a more flexible service to our decorating customers.”
