Representatives from more than 50 leading suppliers to the heating and cooling industry joined Lee Newman, recently appointed managing director of Pipe Center and Climate Center, on stage at the distributor’s annual conference.

Mr Newman thanked the manufacturers for their support and commitment at the roadshow, held at Hinckley near Leicester. Companies present included A-Gas, Advanced Engineering, Baxi Commercial, Daikin UK, Danfoss, Flamco, Geberit, Ideal, Tata Steel and Wilo.

The event included an exhibition of the latest technology, components and accessories for heating and cooling buildings, staged by the manufacturers to update Pipe Center and Climate Center branch managers and sales teams.

Representatives of Bosch were presented with Pipe Center’s Supplier of the Year Award 2013 for sales growth and excellent support. Climate Center’s Supplier of the Year Award went to Advanced Engineering for an equally impressive performance.

Under the banner of ‘Faster, Further, Together’, the theme of the event was inspired by the success of the British Olympic rowing team, with invited guest Matthew Pinsent, a four-times Olympic Gold Medal winner, providing an insight into the dedication required to achieve sustained success over many years.

Mr Newman said: “We greatly value the support and commitment shown to us over the past year by our leading suppliers. It goes without saying that they are absolutely vital for our business. Working closely with them, we have been able to better serve our own customers and grow together.

“We will be carrying this close collaboration forward over the coming year, to ensure we maximise opportunities to bring the very best technology and products to market, and give our customers the support they need to ensure a competitive advantage.”
