Norbord is sponsoring a postgraduate scholarship to support students studying for an MSc degree in timber engineering at Edinburgh Napier University’s School of Engineering and the Built Environment.

The Norbord Postgraduate Timber Engineering Scholarship will be awarded to a student undertaking the MSc Timber Engineering course, starting this academic year (2013/2014).

The company is paying £3,750 towards the student’s course fees plus a support allowance of £1,250. Norbord will also pay for the student’s work placements and part-time or holiday work as appropriate.

Norbord will interact with the student throughout the duration of the course, providing a summer work placement and providing practical examples in the workplace on which projects, assignments, case studies and a dissertation can be based.

The scholarship covers a period of either one year of full-time academic study or a period of two years of part-time or distance learning.

Edinburgh Napier University plans to promote the scholarship through its careers service with an employer workshop, employer presentation to graduating students and attendance at “Get that Job” and other networking sessions.
