TrustMark has announced two new board directors – Sarah Harrison of Ofgem and Steve Hodgson of the Property Care Association (PCA) - both bringing extensive consumer and industry experience to the governance and board of TrustMark.

Elected for a term of three years, Steve Hodgson will take the position of trade director with particular responsibility for insurance and finance and Sarah Harrison as non-trade director for consumer empowerment. They will represent their specific area of expertise and interest and will assist in the overall success of TrustMark in achieving its long-term objectives.

Ms Harrison, senior partner, sustainable development of Ofgem, said: “I am delighted to be joining the TrustMark board and believe that the scheme can play a vital role in helping consumers make better choices. TrustMark can reduce the cost and time it takes to find reliable local tradespeople and, at the end of the day, give greater assurance on value for money. I welcome the opportunity to contribute towards the development of TrustMark and helping secure good outcomes for consumers.”

Stephen Hodgson, CEO of the Property Care Association, said: “Having been a strong advocate of TrustMark since its inception and a previous elected member of the board, I am proud to be taking up the role of trade director again with determination and commitment. I believe that the reasons for the creation of TrustMark are as valid now as they were when we started and we must continue to build the brand in partnership with government and consumer organisations while retaining a focus on the thousands of firms who fund this scheme. I look forward to drawing upon my experience with the PCA and to continue the impressive work that TrustMark has already started.”
