Screwfix is continuing its ongoing expansion, having recently launched a European shipping service.

The decision to extend Screwfix’s offering came after intense interest from international customers, with thousands of hits per week from European visitors including those as far afield as Finland and Latvia.

Now, Screwfix is shipping to 23 countries across Europe, with doorstep delivery for all orders. High volumes of orders are already being received from France, Spain and Ireland, with power and hand tools proving particularly popular.

European customers simply visit the Screwfix website and click on the ‘switch to European website’ tab. Here they can browse a range of more than 16,000 products, specially selected to meet the international shipping requirements of the country they are ordering from. Orders are received between five and seven working days later, with free delivery for orders over £100.

John Mewett, marketing director at Screwfix, commented: “After receiving so much interest in our website from international visitors, we decided that enabling European delivery would help us grow our market with both new and existing Screwfix customers, many of which are expats now living outside the UK.

“We have already received some great feedback from international customers, many of whom had been relying on friends and family in the UK to deliver their Screwfix products. They can now order themselves directly from Screwfix, with numerous customers commenting on the quick speed of delivery.

“No matter where they are ordering from, our customers have the convenience of being able to buy from a brand they know and have used before. Plus, with delivery in under a week, they have a hassle-free way of getting the tools or products they require.

“In addition, many of our suppliers currently only trade within the UK and so this is a great opportunity for them to increase their customer base and brand awareness across Europe.”
