IRELAND: Timber processor Glennon Brothers, a family-run business since 1913, has unveiled a brand new image for its plants across Ireland and the UK, designed to unify its external profile and position the company as a ‘one-stop shop' for sawn softwood timber.

Formerly operating as ‘Glennon Bros Holdings Ltd' and under a variety of names at its four plants, ‘Glennon Brothers' will be used as the parent company title from the end of August with the aim of conveying a single identity across all aspects of the business.

The company has taken the decision to retain ‘Brothers' as a key part of the name in order to reflect its origins as a family business with an ethos developed over nearly 100 years of serving customers in the timber processing sector.

Glennon Brothers' new branding is set to feature across all of its plants in Ireland and Scotland in order to communicate a common identity. A suite of logos has been created, with a tailored version developed for the Irish plants at Longford and Fermoy, and another for Windymains Timber in East Lothian. A fresh image based on the new design will be created over the coming months for Adam Wilsons in Troon, upon the completion of its major capital investment program.

While all the new company images have the same style and feel as Glennon Brothers, the individual company names have been retained to recognise their own long standing traditions.

The rollout of the brand includes the launch of a new website: www.glennonbrothers.ie, which will contain information on all Glennon Brothers' plants. Refreshed livery for company vehicles and packaging has also been developed.

The third generation brothers of the Glennon family, Mike and Pat lead a team of over 300 employees in Ireland and Scotland which specialises in providing a range of strong, enduring and attractive timber products to both the Irish and UK markets.

Pat Glennon, joint managing director, said: "This is an exciting new chapter in the Glennon Brothers' story and one which recognises our long-standing heritage while also setting the scene for our future.

"We're extremely proud of nearly 100 years of processing and, as our name highlights, we're a family-run business.  Although we've grown bigger over recent years, our ethos really hasn't changed. We still stand for the same values we did when my grandfather started operations nearly a century ago - quality products and great customer service."

Mike Glennon, joint managing director, added: "Our new brand represents an exciting step forward for us. With our recent move into the UK market through the acquisition of Windymains Timber and Adam Wilsons & Sons, we've built a solid network and are now even better placed to serve our customers.

"We're now in a position to meet all our customers' sawn softwood timber needs through the different areas of our business. Our new ‘Glennon Brothers' brand assures our customers that we'll continue to strive to achieve the same excellent standards they have come to expect from us, whichever of our plants they buy from."
