ONLINE: Security specialist Yale has given its website a total overhaul for 2011, providing merchants and retailers with more online support and helping consumers to see how easy it is to replace or update their home security products.

The website includes a home security checklist, an easy-to-use product search function and new photography, as well as a ‘Find an Expert’ section and Yale SecurityTV.

Yale SecurityTV features informative and educational videos on a range of security products, designed to help consumers understand how to quickly and easily upgrade their home security by installing Yale products.

The website also includes a ‘standards’ section, which provides simple explanations of security logos such as Secured By Design, Insurance Approved and Sold Secure, helping consumers to make more informed purchasing decisions and increasing the opportunities to upsell.

Merchants can also access customer-specific areas on the new website, where they can download Yale point of sale, images, details of product promotions and other sales support materials.

Caroline Martin, the company's marketing manager, said: “The designated customer areas provide information tailored to merchants, installers and consumers, and the point-of-sale materials and logo definitions should lead to increased sales.”
