BURGESS HILL: Manufacturer of plastic pipe fittings, Plasson has recently renewed its contract as the exclusive supplier of high quality water mains fittings to NBG, the National Buying Group for independent builders merchants.

Since forming the partnership over five years ago, Plasson has been an important brand within NBG, working with the group to continuously supply high quality fittings to the merchant members and end users. Following the contract renewal, Plasson will remain as the exclusive supplier of water mains fittings within the group’s 242 nationwide outlets for a further two years.

Allan Durning, executive chairman at NBG is confident in the partnership between the two companies as he comments, “NBG and Plasson have had a successful partnership for a significant period of time, which we are keen to continue in the future. We strongly believe that, unlike many builders merchants, product continuity is important to end users and so are working with Plasson to maintain supply of the highest quality, approved products for our customers.”

Nigel Higgins of Higgins Wellingborough and category chairman for NBG is also pleased to continue working alongside Plasson as he explains, “ We have a wonderful long-term partnership with Plasson who are the market leader within the industry. Renewing our contract with the company is great for the future of NBG and its customers.”

Plasson originally won the contract with NBG by delivering on all the main criteria within a rigorous supply chain evaluation carried out to ensure suppliers meet performance standards. Allan Durning explains: “Plasson came out on top on a range of measures including the ability to continuously supply high quality, low cost fittings. The company ticked all the boxes in terms of requirements to NBG and its customers.”
