WORCESTER: Three colleagues from Wickes' store on Shrub Hill Retail Park plan to trek the length of Hadrian's Wall – 84 miles – non-stop to raise money for the charity Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research.

Store manager Jonathan Fry, deputy manager Steve Osbaldiston and supervisor Paul Denslow started their trek yesterday setting out from Bowness-on-Solway. The trek is expected to take 33 hours ending in Wallsend, Newcastle, today.

Mr Fry said it was the first time any of them had taken on a challenge of this size. "It's never been done in one go and I have no idea if we'll manage it. But it's something you can talk about it for the rest of your life and say, 'I did that.' And it's for a very good cause," he said.

The men have raised £650 and are on track for their £750 target.
