SKIPTON: ADM Systems has unveiled a new ‘Guide to Ventilation’ that is designed specifically to help self builders and renovators.

The 16-page guide is full of handy tips on understanding, choosing and overseeing the installation of an appropriate ventilation system.

Issues associated with lack of adequate ventilation include condensation and mould growth, accumulation of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) from paint and new furniture and, of course, loss of heat energy, leading to high heating bills.

A section of the new guide is devoted to helping self builders and renovators choose a system that is right for them. This ranges from Passive Stack Ventilation (PSV) to Central Extract Ventilation (MEV), although the company encourages customers to choose a whole house with Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery (MVHR) wherever possible.

Also included in the new brochure is the recently introduced ground-to-air heat exchanger (GAHX). This super efficient system significantly reduces the amount of energy the MVHR system needs to heat or cool the incoming air, again helping homeowners reduce their heating and cooling bills.
