The Company

Our market leading client is a renowned global business with a 200 year history in the production and supply of high quality traditional building materials and currently operates from over 200 facilities spread strategically throughout 30 countries. The UK is an established market for it and is served by range of production and distribution facilities throughout the country.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Sales - Construction, you will be responsible for a range of activities including account management, project management and the provision of technical advice on the use of the company’s products. The role requires frequent travel within the UK and occasionally overseas.

Main Responsibilities Include

· To promote and sell the company’s full range (Roof, Brick, Block, Facade) of building products.

· Develop specifications of the company’s products through the design and pre-construction stage.

· Work with the other divisions to manage gained specifications through to order and completion on site.

· Be responsible for the profitable development of sales opportunities

· Meet and exceed the agreed sales targets (price, mix, volume)

· Work towards developing the company into the No 1 choice for a construction fabric solution.

· Work closely with the Head of Sales - Construction in the development of the company’s brand in the UK.

· Management of key customers on large scale developments/major pipeline projects.

· Delivery of CPDs, and other technical/training seminars, as required to a variety of customer sectors such as designers, contractors and internal teams

Skills and Experience (essential)

· Technically competent, with an ability to deliver product and system information to deliver a commercial benefit for the company.

· Understanding the dynamics of commercial supply chain from specification through to project delivery

· Need to demonstrate they can build relationships across all disciplines – architects, engineers and main contractors

· The ability to work as a proactive team play, with a can-do attitude will be essential in succeeding in this role.

· A good standard of presentation skills will be required, presenting to internal Directors and Managers as well as customers.

Skills and Knowledge (desirable)

· Delivery of Key Account Management through Design and Distribution

· Experience of differing contract types and their impact on the management of a project

· A working knowledge of the built environment
