After ten years of servicing the London area, SBS Thurrock has relocated to Rainham in Essex.

This means the branch will now be named SBS Rainham (London East). The move will allow the branch to provide a better quality of service and hold a bigger amount of stock. The new unit, located in Avocet Park, Rainham, covers over 35,000 sq. ft.

Since 2009, the branch has been one of the best performing branches in the 14-depot network. Several changes over the years have led to this relocation, for example, when Thurrock started out ten years ago, it employed seven members of staff and had a budget of £2.6 million, and now it employs 34 people with a budget of more than £17 million.

Since 2009, the branch has developed an Air Conditioning and Ancillary department, showcasing the importance of having specialist people within a branch.

Rainham’s ever growing fleet started with two and has now increased to 11 vehicles. The fleet is now Silver FORS accredited which was awarded back in 2015, since upgrading from the bronze. Overall SBS has held the accreditation for six years. The award is granted to all company vehicles usually compromising of LGV’s, 3.5T flatbeds and small box vans.

Plus, most of the team have also worked in the industry for many years - the two regional managers and the branch manager have collected up a total of 97 years of working in the market.
