This year’s British Chamber awards has recognised a sliding and folding door manufacturer for its exporting prowess.

The awards celebrate the best British businesses, and Durham-based PC Henderson has been announced as a finalist in the UK Export Business of the Year category.

The Export Award aims to shine a spotlight on companies that have generated substantial success in international trade.

Judging criteria for the application takes into account the company’s turnover, profit, future objectives, sales by geographical market, strategy for entering new markets and future growth strategy.

The firm will compete against eight others, and the winner will be announced at a gala dinner at Tobacco Dock in London on 29 November.

One company will also crowned Business of the Year and will have the honour of opening the London Stock Exchange when next year’s programme is opened in March 2019.

Trevor Cossins, Managing Director of PC Henderson, said: “The British Chamber Awards is one of the most contested and prestigious award programmes in the UK.

“To be announced as a finalist is a huge achievement for us and we see it as an independent seal of approval for the hard work and dedication we put into exporting.

“Exporting lies at the heart of everything we do - we take a great deal of time to understand new markets and listen to our overseas customers. This, backed up by high quality manufacturing and a driven and committed team, is what lies behind our success today.”
