CROYDON: As part of its strategic review, Whirlpool UK has announced new organisational changes in an effort to streamline and simplify its operation for the future.

“2009 was a very challenging year and resulted in some changes in the organisation to address the difficulties induced by the economic climate. We are now satisfied that we have the structure to support the future of all our brands in our range with a multi-brand operation,” says Ian Railton managing director, Whirlpool UK.

The restructuring involves a number of top level management changes. Andy Burns becomes head of business unit – kitchen; he was previously head of marketing. Raj Mistry, formerly retail channel manager, takes up the role as the new head of marketing for Whirlpool UK.

Harry Kyriacou joins the team as head of business unit – retail with a remit for the development and implementation of the retail strategy. Mr Kyriacou  brings a wealth of sales, marketing and business experience with his background in retail distribution channels from his time with Philips.
