A park on Blackpool’s seafront is being renovated following an £80 million investment.

Anchorsholme Park is occupied by United Utilities, which is funding the renovation with the aim of improving the town’s sewage systems and cleaning up the sea water, as well as re-landscaping the site and adding new facilities.

Charcon Hard Landscaping, a division of Aggregate Industries, is supplying the project with 2,286m² of its Andover Textured Block paving.

The new site will include a bowling club, café, outdoor seating area, children’s playground, and a sports area with tennis courts and a trim trail.

Work is expected to be completed by 2020.

Mark Barter, Sales Director at Charcon, said: “The Anchorsholme Park project is incredibly exciting as it will see the return of much-loved community park with brand new leisure facilities for residents and visitors to the area to enjoy.

“With our knowledge and product proficiency, we are ideally placed to work on this landscaping project and we’re looking forward to seeing the park come back to life in the coming months.”
