Building and Plumbing Supplies opened its revamped Leamington branch with an event attended by a contestant from BBC TV show The Great British Bake Off.

The new shop and showroom was opened recently by the Mayor of Leamington Spa, Heather Calver. To celebrate introducing kitchen products to its range, the branch hosted a Build & Bake event. this involved Christine Wallace (pictured), a runner up from the fourth series of baking competition The Great British Bake Off, judge cakes baked by the staff members following the refurbishment.

The branch now has a more contemporary look with clearer organisation of products. It also has more space so BPS can showcase a wider range of products, rather than storing them in the warehouse.

There is a new kitchen showroom and the branch’s Kudos Bathroom showroom has been relocated to a more open and accessible part of the store.

BPS also hosted a Trade Week to celebrate the new opening, when customers were able to meet representatives of suppliers including Villeroy & Boch, Matki Showering, Sheraton Kitchens, LPD Doors, Crown Paint and Ox, and enter competitions.

John Dibble, Managing Director at BPS, said: “Our old shop and showroom had served us well for over 30 years. However many of our products were hidden in the warehouse never to be seen on the shop floor. The new layout draws inspiration from the open plan approach we have used at our other branches, allowing us to showcase our product range in clear defined sections.

“The relocation of our Kudos Bathroom showroom has created a focal point and the addition of kitchens has expanded our product range further. I believe the newly renovated shop and showroom has created a fresh and modern environment, more fitting for a modern thinking builders’ merchant such as BPS.”
