NORTHAMPTON: Builders' merchant group, Travis Perkins, has committed to supporting two new charities for 2010 and 2011 – The Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance and Keech Hospice Care for children.

The charities, which were selected through an employee vote, will be supported through a calendar of Travis Perkins fundraising activity, such as its annual Family Fun Day and Charity Challenge events, as well as individual employee commitments. The group expects to raise in excess of £30 000 for the charities.

Hannah Apps, spokesperson for the Travis Perkins charity committee said: "Employee commitment to the WNAA and Keech Hospice Care is high, so we expect to raise a considerable amount of money for them as a result of organised events and employee motivated ones.

"Tracy Grunwell, fundraising manager for the WNAA said: "It's fantastic to see Travis Perkins getting involved and helping to raise money for this incredibly worthy cause."
