The Association for Project Safety announces new president
Published:  30 May, 2018

APS, which works to reduce injury and ill-health across the construction industry, recently announced Jonathon Moulam as its President Elect.

The association has almost 5,000 members, and works to improve professional practice in design and construction, health and safety risk management, and helps members including architects and technologists manage risk and implement building regulations.

The association provides training, education, support, and networking opportunities throughout the UK. It works with other bodies and partners to improve health and safety for everyone involved in construction through good design and health and safety throughout the whole life-cycle of projects and buildings.

Prior to this role, Moulam ran his own Construction Health & Safety and Disability consultancy. He will take the helm of APS after incoming president Stella Saunders’ two-year term beginning this October comes to an end.

Moulam said: “The construction sector faces a number of critical challenges over the next few years: Brexit; an effective response to Grenfell; and promoting proportionate health and safety risk management right down to delivery at the grass roots.

“I believe the Association for Project Safety can help make construction healthier and safer. And I will work to help APS secure its place as the premier health and safety risk management body working closely with partners across the whole construction field.

“I am committed to build on the good work that’s been done in recent years and I will work tirelessly to represent the views of the membership.”
