Civil and drainage solutions supplier Keyline is hosting a charity bike ride from Dumfries to Inverness next month.

The three-day cycle covers 300 miles, starting on 7 June, with proceeds going to Prostate Cancer UK. The cyclists will set off from the Keyline Dumfries branch, where they will complete a 96-mile ride ending at the Adrossan Harbour. On the second day, the team will pick up where they left off and catch a ferry across to the Isle of Arran, then bike another 96 miles to Oban. The final day will involve a hilly 108 mile ride to the finish line, which is the Keyline branch in Inverness.

While Keyline is encouraging cyclists of an intermediate level to take part, it is also welcoming all abilities with open arms. Those who are not as experienced at cycling are recommended to join on the second day of the cycle.

Keyline hosted the event last year too, when it raised £8,000.

Prostate Cancer UK supports those affected by prostate cancer, which kills one man every 45 minutes in the UK.

Frazer MacBean, Keyline’s Regional Operations Manager for Scotland and the North, said: “After such astonishing success at last year’s event, we have decided to host the charity cycle again this summer. We intend to smash last year’s generous donations that totalled a staggering £8,000. Everyone at Keyline is extremely grateful for the ongoing support this event has received and we welcome everyone to help raise more money for an amazing cause.”
