Selco Builders Warehouse has further strengthened its offering in the London area by opening its a branch in St Albans - its 63rd in the UK.

The new location enhances Selco’s presence in Hertfordshire, where it already has branches in Watford and Hemel Hempstead, and continues its rapid expansion programme.

The ribbon has already been cut on branches in Solihull, York, Milton Keynes and Leeds Roundhay this year, with Leicester, Chelmsford and a second store in Bristol all due to be trading before the end of June.

The St Albans branch features the full Selco offering, including Selco Hire and a kitchen design service.

Howard Luft, Selco’s Chief Executive, said: “This is already our fifth branch opening of the year and, following on from major expansion over the last five years, confirms we are an ever-growing force in the builders' merchant industry.

“While we are expanding into new areas all the time, strengthening our presence in and around London is pleasing. The nearby Watford and Hemel Hempstead branches have given us a base in the Hertfordshire region over the last few years and we are delighted to build on that with St Albans.”

The launch of Selco St Albans has also seen the builders' merchant continue its support for the local communities in which it operates, with a trio of good causes each receiving £1,000.

This is in addition to the fundraising programme for national charity partner Macmillan Cancer Support, which has already generated well in excess of £500,000.
