STOKE-ON-TRENT: Chris Taylor-Hamlin has been promoted to the position of technical director of the Bathroom Manufacturers' Association.

Mr Taylor-Hamlin joined the BMA in 2008 and quickly established himself as the bathroom industry's 'technical guru'. He is responsible for representing BMA members during the development of bathroom standards in British and European Technical Committees.

Mr Taylor-Hamlin, said BMA, is the principle technical mouthpiece for the industry liaising with UK government bodies, protecting members' interests in any discussion forum. He also provides technical information and back-up for BMA members.

Recent projects at the BMA have included the authoring of the new industry TMV Guide (an account of the current regulations and available products), and the complete review and upgrade of the Water Efficient Product Labelling Scheme.

He is now working on co-ordinating all the available information for the forthcoming review of the Water Regulations.

Mr Taylor-Hamlin is a qualified engineer. During his career, he has worked for British Coal, Mira Showers and Reliance Water Controls.
