The George Bence Group officially opened their 4th branch with a location outside the village of Bourton on the Water. Recently knighted, Sir Geoffrey Clifton-Brown, the long standing MP for the Cotswolds was present to cut the ribbon.

The 164 year old, fifth-generation family independent company had recently diversified with a Roofing Centre, Decorating Centre increasing their multi-branch, product specialisation across Gloucestershire and surrounding counties.

Paul Bence, Managing Director of the George Bence Group said: “We are very proud to open our fourth branch in a vicinity which has been highly sought after. It very much fits within our long term strategic development plans and complements our existing lightside business in the area.”

“We listen carefully to our client’s needs and it was very clear that the area was lacking choice and service in building material supplies. The very experienced team in branch will be able to provide expert assistance and service to our established loyal clientele working in this part of the Cotswolds and support a new customer base. This is another marker in our initial target of ten branches as we look to expand our regional presence further afield.

“We are very honoured that Sir Geoffrey was able to open the branch, especially with it being his first official engagement after his knighthood. He has served the Cotswolds gracefully for 25 years and I hope that we can perform within the area as well as he has.”

Sir Geoffrey Clifton Brown said: “I was delighted to open the George Bence Group’s new fourth branch in the Cotswolds. I have always been a very satisfied customer and it is excellent to see this family-run company expanding further in the Cotswolds.”
