Talasey Group / Natural Paving Products is delighted to announce its group sales and marketing director; Malcolm Gough is the latest expert to join the Builders Merchant Building Index (BMBI) panel.

Working as an extension of the Builders Merchants Federation, the BMBI is a valuable asset for the merchant industry. It works to measure Repair, Maintenance and Improvement building activity in the UK. Additionally, it has a panel made up of 12 industry experts that speak exclusively for their markets. Mr Gough will be speaking for natural stone landscaping products, vitrified paving and artificial grass.

Bringing valuable insights and context to industry data, the panel of industry leading experts is integral to the success of the BMBI. Malcolm has been chosen for his 30 years within the landscaping and construction sector, and will help bring on the ground perspective to the latest issues, opportunities, new legislation, industry schemes and government policies.

Speaking on his appointment, Mr Gough, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for myself and I feel privileged to have been selected to the panel. The BMBI plays a crucial role in the merchant industry, helping build awareness and understanding of the market and it’s dynamics. I look forward to helping out the organisation as it sets its gaze forward to yet another year of continued success.”

Mr Gough will also help the BMBI produce reliable, up-to-date reports, which use GfK’s Builders Merchant Point of Sale Tracking Data, analysing sales out data from over 80% of generalist builders’ merchants’ sales across Great Britain. The organisation also produces an in-depth review every quarter that provides insight into what is happening in the market.
