On 12th November, Knauf Insulation will be joining the Worshipful Company of Builders' Merchants' (WCoBM) float to parade the streets of London as part of the Lord Mayor's Show.

This year's float theme - 'Builders' Merchants: Supplying Britain's Building Needs' - was chosen to demonstrate the importance of builders' merchanting to the UK economy. The float will consist of a single modern vehicle, followed by a JCB Forklift with a mock pallet of bricks, placards with prominent messages and walkers in striking building materials costumes – including characters dressed as Knauf Insulation's Earthwool Loft Roll insulation, which will promote the product benefits to this year's spectators.

John Sinfield, managing director at Knauf Insulation, said: "We understand the importance of maintaining strong relationships with our merchant customers. We're very much looking forward to joining the WCoBM float again in this year's Lord Mayor Show, to showcase the great work all our merchant customers do on behalf of the construction industry."

The Lord Mayor's Show is one of the best-known annual events in London, as well as one of the longest established, dating back to the 16th Century. Over 150 floats take part each year in a two-mile procession through the City, to celebrate the inauguration of Honorary Liveryman, Alderman Dr Andrew Parmley, who will be installed as the city's new Lord Mayor.

Crowds of people line the City's streets to celebrate the occasion and cheer the long fleet of vehicles, marching bands, spectacular floats, carriages and much more. The Show represents charities, community groups, business and Livery companies as well as Her Majesty's Forces and the City Police.
