The Sutton branch of Champion Timber, one of the South East's leading timber suppliers, has once again invested in its local football team, Sutton United. The company is sponsoring the team's white and red away kit for the new 2016/2017 season.

Sutton United has gone from strength to strength recently, under the management of Paul Doswell and the expert coaching of Ian Baird. The team has been promoted to the National Vanarama League and is currently placed 13th.

Created in 1898, the 118-year-old local team had a record 26 games unbeaten in the 2015/2016 season and has started this term well with five wins so far.

Steve Pilbeam, branch manager of Champion Timber Sutton, said: "We relish being involved with the local communities of our 10 branches and the Sutton arm has supported Sutton United for many years. The team had a phenomenal last season and it looks like this new one won't be any different. We would like to wish the team good luck for all of their upcoming games."

Graham Baker, commercial manager of Sutton United, added: "We are a solid local team, doing great things, and are grateful for all help and support we receive. The team would like to say thank you to Champion Timber for sponsoring our away kits."
