An employee from Rudridge has raised £825 for Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice Care after successfully completing the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 on 31, July, 2016.

Peter Burrell, who works as an assistant manager at the civil engineering and groundworks specialist, triumphed against the challenging 100-mile route that zigzagged through the Surrey countryside and finished with a final sprint down The Mall.

Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice Care is the only hospice care service for adult patients, and their families, across the whole of the West Surrey and North East Hampshire area. For over 35 years the charity has provided support to the local community and need to raise over £20,000 a day to continue operating.

Commenting on his cycling success, Mr Tuckwell, said: “It was a great feeling crossing the finish line at The Mall knowing all my hard work and training had paid off. It’s a huge achievement and I am very proud to support such an amazing charity that provides important care to so many families.”

Darren Price, group operations manager, added: “We really admire Peter’s dedication to helping such a worthy cause and are proud to have him as part of the team at Rudridge. He’s done an incredible job.”
