An IT support analyst from Covers Chichester has raised over £400 for Children with Cancer UK after hosting a charity barbecue at his workplace.

Colleagues and customers of Simon Chivrall, who works at Covers Timber & Builders Merchants on Quarry Lane, tucked into a feast of barbecue favourites on Friday 15 April. Mr Chivrall is aiming to raise at least £2,000 for the children’s charity through a variety of different fundraising activities, culminating in running the London Marathon on Sunday 24 April.

Mr Chivrall said: “Friday’s barbecue was another huge step towards raising my target of £2,000 for the charity and I would like to thank everyone who came out, joined in the fun and showed their support.

“Children with Cancer UK is a phenomenal charity providing much needed care to families in incredibly difficult situations so I am proud to be supporting them. I have been training extremely hard for the London Marathon, and, although I am sure it will be tough, I am very much looking forward to running such an iconic course.”
