John Nicholls (Trading) has announced the opening of its first 'Supersite', planned for early 2016.

The new site at Bicester, Oxfordshire, will be the largest single site within the Nicholls Group, comprising 40,000 sq ft of warehouse and office space, as well as a large yard area.

This marks the next stage of the company's expansion plan, following the acquisition of J&B's Plumbing & Heating Merchants in late 2014, and the opening of its first high street bathroom solutions showroom in Kidlington in May of this year. There are now 16 branches and showrooms within the Nicholls Group.

The new site will incorporate all the core Nicholls businesses such as building and timber, plumbing and heating, kitchens and bathrooms. New business ventures include trade services, direct-to-site delivery options, van-size parking spaces and an in-branch cafe.

Andrew Nicholls, chief executive of the Nicholls Group, said: "It's fantastic news to be extending our presence within Bicester and Oxfordshire through the opening of our first supersite. We have been established in Bicester since 1998 and have first hand experience of how the town is, and will develop in the coming years.

"Coupled with our local knowledge and the projected growth of the town, which is already widely acknowledged as one of the fastest growing towns in Europe, our new business location offers a massive opportunity to the Nicholls Group, the people of Bicester and the local economy.

"The sheer scale of our new site allows us to increase the services we offer including electrical, joinery, roofing, renewable technologies, decorating, tool hire and online trading while also enhancing our core businesses to provide the best possible offering to our customers."

As with all Nicholls businesses, staff will be recruited from within the Group and from the local community.
