Carvers Building Supplies enjoyed a successful relaunch event last month, marking the merchant’s return after a devastating fire in 2012.

‘Carvers 2: The Return’ took place on Saturday 6 December and was attended by more than 250 guests, including sports personalities, local MPs, media, suppliers and customers. It was held on site at Littles Lane, Wolverhampton in a grand marquee and marked the opening of the ‘Builders’ Village’, which now houses franchises SJ Dixon, Tile Choice, Chandlers Roofing and Rayton Electrical.

The evening was hosted by Bob Warman and highlighted the tragedy of the fire, as well as the £6m rebuild programme, cataloguing details of how the team got back on its feet. There were a couple of surprises along the way as directors Neil Kendrick and Bryan Purslow were honoured for their exceptional service since the fire, while Henry Carver was honoured in a ‘This is your Life’ presentation and was greeted by children, Jack, George and Tilly, wife Libby and mother Sheila, who surprised him on the evening.

The evening followed with live entertainment from Go West, and a disco ensured guests were dancing into the early hours.
