Supreme Concrete has announced a number of initiatives designed to make sure the company continues to meet customer requirements in the short and long term.

According to Tim Wright, Supreme sales director, the current spike in demand is partly due to increased activity in the housebuilding sector, and is now being felt across the company’s full range of concrete products, from lintels and floor beams to external landscaping products, such as bollards and fence posts.

“We have therefore been working closely with our customers on a range of ‘100% availability’ initiatives, designed to ensure that we can continue to meet their requirements on-time and in full, every time,” said Mr Wright.

As well as advice and support on product selection, the company is to rationalise its extensive product portfolio, with production ceasing on a number of slow-moving and hard-to-manufacture products. As a result, more than 100 different products will be de-listed by 1 January 2015. Products affected will include various specifications of wet cast lintels, posts, gravel boards and associated landscape and garden items.

The items involved represent only a small percentage of Supreme’s total portfolio, and by working closely with customers, the company expects to be able to offer suitable alternatives for many of the de-listed items.

Supreme will be writing to all merchants with a full list of products affected, and has set up a special sales helpline for customers requiring advice and assistance.
