B&Q's £6m campaign aims at shy DIYers

UK: B&Q launched its latest advertising campaign yesterday on ITV. Showing a series of unfortunate DIY mishaps, its message underscores what the DIY giant is doing to help encourage DIY-shy Brits to overcome their fears and start 'Doing it Together' with a little help from the experts

The first ad will be followed by two others. The campaign is part of a £6m investment across all media and runs until 1 May. It highlights everything that B&Q is doing to help people with their DIY, including in-store demos, 'You Can Do It' classes, an all year-round price promise, over 16 000 NVQ qualified staff, free next-day delivery and advice from celebrity experts.


Katherine Paterson, B&Q's marketing director said: "We're on a mission to make DIY easier and, by admitting that most of us are scared or just don't like DIY, we want to help by giving the nation the skills and confidence they need to overcome their fears."
