Published:  28 October, 2009

STROUD: A Travis Perkins skip loader, hired by the Five Valleys Foyer project to make a community garden for residents, was damaged overnight during the August bank holiday.

Anthony Burgess, 19, attempted to start the truck with a pair of scissors. Stroud Magistrates' Court fined him £150 and ordered him to pay £179.41 compensation to Travis Perkins.

Mr Burgess, who represented himself at court, said: "I was drunk at the time so I can't really remember what happened."
